So you've heard of UV before. But did you know that there are two types of UV rays that reaches your skin? UVA and UVB. Let's talk about it. About 95% of the UV radiation reaching Earth's surface is UVA, while only 5% is UVB. UVB: Shorter wavelength (280-315 nm), Affects the outer layer of the skin (epidermis), Main cause of sunburn. UVA: Longer wavelength (315-400 nm), Penetrates deeper, Contributes to aging, wrinkles, and pigmentation. When you buy sunscreen, SPF is the only thing you should be checking. But what about PA++++?
