Three things I learned after starting my strength training fat loss and workout journey as a type 1 diabetic. Here we go. Number one, do not go empty stomach for a workout. Have some protein and carb pre-workout at least 30 to 35 minutes to one hour so that your blood glucose is stable and you can workout peacefully. Number two, always keep low sugar snacks for your lows and emergency ones for your highs. Your blood glucose is going to be erratic when you workout and you should be prepared with a contingency plan. Number three and the last one, focus on building strength and building muscles. Also stay in a calorie deficit as much as possible. Building muscles is going to help you with insulin resistance and in the long run. Quick disclaimer, these are the lessons that I've learned from my type 1 diabetes fitness journey, everyone's body, insulin requirement and body response to workout can be different and can be different. So what works for me may not work for you. So be very careful and make sure you consult a doctor if need be. This post is intended to share my experience personally as a type 1 diabetic and is not medical advice. Please work with your endocrinologist or your diabetic health expert to be fit and strong. Also thank you so much for supporting me and responding to my videos. I would love to know what other topics you want me to make videos on and I will work hard and make those videos.
