Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen opened in 1843, which makes it one of the oldest operating amusement parks in the world. And in my experience, it's definitely worth the hype. Tivoli Gardens is Denmark's number one main attraction. And it's credited for being a direct inspiration for Walt Disney when he was designing Disneyland over a century later. The park's original wooden roller coaster is still running today, complete with an onboard brakeman to manually control the speed since it has no automated braking system. I recommend trying everything. Make sure you visit the park at least once in the evening to truly feel the magical experience yourself.
