I finally found a way to have a little extra time for myself. When I first started my business I had absolutely no idea how much stuff I was going to be doing and how much time I was going to be spending on doing stuff that had no relation to walking the dogs. As well as the dogs, also invoices, expenses, receipts, payments, tax, all the stuff that happens behind the scenes. I'm using Coconut to just try and sort this all out and not leave everything until the last minute where it's got to the point where I desperately need to sort it out. All I do is connect my bank accounts and the transactions come through automatically. All you do from there is just categorize them into business or personal transactions. It is super easy. And if you're anything like me and I'm rubbish at keeping receipts, it means you can literally go to your camera roll, select a receipt, put it on the app and then it's all there. And the thing that I use this app most is my invoices. All it takes is five seconds to create someone's profile and they're ready for you to go and put in your transactions. Taxes, self-assessment and MTD can be really difficult, so this makes it so much easier. Doing admin's definitely the worst part of the business, but having it all in one place definitely makes it feel a little bit more manageable and gives me a lot more time to enjoy the things that I love doing.
