Well reality is composed of the stories that we tell about it, what we choose to notice and how we populate it. And one telling of this year, I could say there are a lot of disappointments, there's a lot of alarm and sadness and confusion. Okay, that's true. But in another telling of this story, I persisted. Why is it that the first story that's so easy for me to populate is the catastrophizing one? And whose interests does that serve? It's so much easier for me to believe and struggle and to notice struggle than to perceive ease. And so one of the mantras I've been telling myself recently, 'It gets to be easy.' I have this narrative that everything has to be difficult and onerous and impossible. And that's not true. That's a story that I've told about what is true.
