Scrape Creators Alternative for Creator and UGC Data

Scrape Creators Alternative for Creator and UGC Data
Search "Scrape Creators alternative" and you get a list of proxy vendors: Bright Data, Oxylabs, Zyte, Decodo, NetNut. Every one of those is a general purpose scraping company. Not one of them is a creator data platform, which means the entire SERP is answering a question nobody asked. People evaluating Scrape Creators are building creator and influencer features. They do not want a residential proxy pool.

So this is the comparison written from the other direction: what Scrape Creators is excellent at, what it deliberately does not do, and when a creator data API is the better fit.

Scrape Creators facts below were verified on 1 October 2026 against scrapecreators.com and docs.scrapecreators.com, linked inline. It is a fast moving product, so check the source before quoting.

Start with what Scrape Creators gets right

It would be dishonest to bury this. Scrape Creators is a genuinely good product and the cheapest credible per call price in the category.

Breadth is real and unusual. Their own count is 37+ APIs across 20+ platforms: TikTok (22 endpoints), Instagram (20), YouTube (17), Facebook (11), Reddit (8), Twitter/X (6), LinkedIn (6), Threads (5), Pinterest (4), plus TikTok Shop, Telegram, Rumble, Truth Social, Bluesky, Twitch, Kick, Snapchat, Apple Music, Spotify, SoundCloud, Google SERP, four separate ad libraries, and five link in bio services including Linktree and Amazon Shop. Nobody else bundles that combination. If you need a Linktree parse and a TikTok Shop lookup from one key, this is the product.

Pricing is refreshingly honest. (We break the credit math down further in Scrape Creators pricing, explained.) From their pricing section: Free at $0 with 100 credits, Freelance at $47 for 25,000 credits ($1.88 per 1,000), Business at $497 for 500,000 credits ($0.99 per 1,000), and custom Enterprise. One credit equals one request for most endpoints. Credits never expire, there is no subscription, and no credit card is required to start. Every tier includes all 37+ APIs with no feature gating, which is rarer than it should be.

Cache hits are free. A cache_max_age parameter accepts values from 1d to 30d, and a hit returns "cached": true, "credits_charged": 0. That makes real world cost lower than list price for any workload with repeat reads.

No rate limits. They publish a page about it: no account level rate or concurrency caps, with guidance to stay below 500 concurrent requests. For spiky backfills that is a genuine operational advantage.

It is agent native. Official MCP server, CLI, n8n node, OpenAPI spec, llms.txt, a first party Claude Code skill, and HTTP 402 machine payments so an agent can buy its own credits. They clearly thought about this before most vendors did.

Transcripts across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. A real differentiator for content pipelines, and not something a creator database gives you.

Their own marketing is admirably blunt: "Don't waste time trying to figure out which scraper to use. Like literally just use us." Their comparison table is titled "Honest about the alternatives." Credit where it is due.

What Scrape Creators is not trying to be

Now the part the proxy vendor listicles never cover, because they do not understand the use case.

Scrape Creators is a pipe. Their own homepage describes it as "One API for every social platform." Everything downstream of the raw JSON is code you write. Four specific gaps matter if you are building creator features.

There is no discovery by audience criteria

This is the big one. Scrape Creators has search endpoints, and they are keyword and hashtag text search: /v1/tiktok/search/users, /v1/tiktok/search/keyword, /v1/tiktok/search/hashtag, /v2/instagram/reels/search, /v1/youtube/search, /v1/threads/search/users. There is also /v1/tiktok/creators/popular, which filters on follower count and country.

What there is not, anywhere in the documented surface, is a query like "beauty creators with 50,000 to 200,000 followers, engagement above 3%, based in Texas, with an email on file." You cannot express that. The only audience data in the catalogue is a single TikTok endpoint, /v1/tiktok/user/audience, returning audience countries, with no Instagram or YouTube equivalent.

Their own customer testimonial says this out loud. Eric Nowoslawski: "there was no other platform that would really let us find and filter the creators that we needed to, and then enrich the data we needed to." That is a customer describing find plus filter plus enrich as three things he had to assemble.

For comparison, the Roster API puts 14 filters on one endpoint:

bash
curl "https://api.ugcroster.com/v1/creators/search" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer rsk_your_key_here" \
-G \
-d niche=beauty \
-d follower_min=50000 \
-d follower_max=200000 \
-d engagement_min=0.03 \
-d state=TX \
-d has_email=true \
-d sort=engagement \
-d limit=50

q, follower_min, follower_max, engagement_min, category, niche, has_email, country, city, state, gender, sort, limit, page. One request, 10 credits, against a graph of more than 1,000,000 Instagram and TikTok creators. That is a different operation from scraping a hashtag page and filtering the results in your own code.

You own the normalization

Scrape Creators returns the platform's own JSON, faithfully. That is a design choice and arguably the right one for a scraping API, but it has a cost.

A TikTok profile call returns user.uniqueId and stats.followerCount. An Instagram profile call returns edge_followed_by.count. There is no unified creator id across platforms, and no precomputed engagement rate. If you want one creator table spanning three platforms, you write that mapping and you maintain it every time a platform renames a field.

A creator data API ships the normalized model as the product. Same 16 field names regardless of platform, with engagement_rate already computed and extracted_email as a field rather than a bio parsing exercise:

json
{
"pk": 12345,
"username": "emmachen",
"full_name": "Emma Chen",
"follower_count": 245000,
"engagement_rate": 4.2,
"category": "Beauty & Skincare",
"extracted_email": "emma@example.com",
"niches": "skincare, beauty, lifestyle",
"city": "Los Angeles",
"state": "CA",
"country": "United States",
"is_verified": false
}

Contact data is whatever the platform happens to expose

Be precise here, because the sloppy version of this claim is wrong. Scrape Creators' Instagram profile response does include business_email, business_phone_number and business_address_json. Those are real fields.

But they are Meta's own public business fields, populated only when the creator filled them in on a professional account, and they were null in the documented example. There is no enrichment layer. Scrape Creators' own blog posts on finding Instagram and YouTube emails explain how to parse bios yourself, which confirms it is not a product feature. TikTok profile responses carry no email at all.

So the accurate framing is not "no contact data." It is "only whatever the platform itself publishes, often null, with no enrichment and no way to filter for it." The practical difference is that you cannot ask Scrape Creators for creators who have an email. You can only ask about creators you already identified and hope.

There is no workflow layer, by design

No briefs, no contracts, no deliverables, no payouts, no roster management. Scrape Creators does not claim otherwise, and their use case copy concedes the boundary: clipping platforms use them to pull views, likes and shares, and then automate payouts themselves.

If your product stops at "display creator stats," that boundary is irrelevant. If your product is "find a creator, brief them, sign them, track the asset, pay them," then everything after the first step is your build.

Operational realities worth planning for

These come from Scrape Creators' own published numbers and are stated fairly, not as gotchas.

Latency is scraping grade. Their homepage live stats show a 3.12 second average response and a 98.2% success rate, labelled as production figures over the last 30 days. Three seconds is good for scraping and is not a database read. It is not viable behind a synchronous user facing search box without your own cache layer in front of it.

98.2% success means you own retries. That is roughly 1 request in 56 failing. Normal for scraping, and something your client code has to handle.

Each call is a point in time snapshot. No historical time series. If you want follower growth over 90 days, you store and diff it yourself.

No contractual SLA. The docs claim "99.9% uptime and enterprise grade infrastructure," and there is a status page. But no uptime guarantee document, no service credits, no remedies are published. Treat the 99.9% as an aspiration, not a commitment.

Small team. Their about page states a team of three, bootstrapped, no funding, founded by Adrian Horning in Austin. The founder writes: "When you email support, I'm the one who reads it." Their homepage FAQ literally includes "Are you a one-man company?" That is charming and it is also a real concentration risk for a dependency in your critical path. Note that third party reporting puts the API's launch in June 2024, while their about page references going full time on scraping work in 2022, so treat any "established since" date carefully.

Legal exposure sits with you. They publish candid posts on scraping legality and what to do when a platform catches you. Candour is good. It is not an indemnity.

Cost at 100,000 profile lookups a month

Profile endpoints are 1 credit per request, so 100,000 lookups equals 100,000 credits. This is where Scrape Creators is strong and it should be said plainly.

Scrape CreatorsRoster API
Unit1 credit per request1 credit per profile read, 10 per search query
100k profile reads$99 of credit consumed at Business rates ($0.99/1k), though the smallest Business pack is $497 for 500,000 credits, so first month cash out is $497 and steady state is about $99/moinside Growth at $398/mo which includes 150,000 credits
On Freelance packs$188/mo (four $47 packs)Starter $98/mo includes 25,000 credits
Credit expirynever expiremonthly allowance, add on packs available (100k for $500)
Repeat readsfree on cache hitcounted
Rate limitnone published, guidance under 500 concurrent60 to 300 req/min by tier
Scrape Creators is cheaper per raw request, and that is not close. If your requirement is "pull a lot of public social JSON as cheaply as possible," they win on price and you should buy them.

The counter is what the money buys. A Roster search query costs 10 credits and returns 100 filtered, normalized, engagement scored, email flagged creator records. Getting the equivalent from a pure scraping API means candidate generation, enumeration, filtering and enrichment implemented by you, and the cost of that is engineering time rather than credits. Compare total cost of the feature, not price per HTTP call.

The two products barely overlap once you say it this way. Scrape Creators is the better scraping API. A creator data API is a creator graph plus the hiring workflow attached to it. The UGC Roster API exposes creator search, briefs, campaigns and payouts behind one key at UGCRoster: /v1/creators/search finds them, /v1/briefs briefs them, /v1/contracts papers it, /v1/deliverables tracks the asset, /v1/payouts pays them, same bearer token.

Plenty of teams should run both: Scrape Creators for platform breadth and post level depth, a creator API for discovery and the campaign workflow.

FAQ

Is Scrape Creators legit?

Yes. It is a real, actively developed product with published pricing, extensive documentation, an OpenAPI spec, a status page and self reported production stats of 10M+ requests daily at a 98.2% success rate, verified 1 October 2026. The honest caveats are structural rather than about legitimacy: a three person bootstrapped team, no contractual SLA, and no funding, which is concentration risk for anything in your critical path.

How much does Scrape Creators cost?

Their published tiers as of 1 October 2026 are Free ($0, 100 credits), Freelance ($47 for 25,000 credits, $1.88 per 1,000), Business ($497 for 500,000 credits, $0.99 per 1,000) and custom Enterprise. One credit equals one request for most endpoints, credits never expire, there is no subscription, and cache hits cost zero credits. It is the cheapest credible per request price in the category.

Does Scrape Creators do influencer discovery?

Not by audience criteria. It has keyword, hashtag and username text search, plus a popular creators endpoint that filters on follower count and country. There is no way to query by engagement rate, niche, city, state, gender or email presence together, and audience demographic data exists only as a single TikTok endpoint returning audience countries. If discovery is the feature you are shipping, that is the gap to test first.

Does Scrape Creators return creator emails?

Only what the platform itself publishes. The Instagram profile response includes business_email and business_phone_number, which are Meta's own public professional account fields and are frequently null. TikTok profile responses include no email. There is no enrichment layer and no way to filter for creators who have an email, which is why their own blog explains how to parse bios yourself.

Scrape Creators vs Apify, which is better for social data?

For social specifically, Scrape Creators is usually the simpler and cheaper choice: one key, one header, synchronous responses around 3 seconds, no compute units, no proxy line item, no actor selection. Apify wins when you need arbitrary non social targets or custom scraping logic you write yourself. Scrape Creators even answers this in their own FAQ, and they publish an Apify comparison page.

Can I use Scrape Creators and a creator data API together?

Yes, and it is a sensible architecture. Use the creator API for discovery, normalized profiles, contact and the campaign workflow. Use Scrape Creators for platform breadth, comments, transcripts, ad libraries and anything outside Instagram and TikTok. They solve different halves of the problem.
